Karen –
I’m a newcomer to art classes, but wanted to try something creative. I have always admired Liz’s delicate artwork, and so signed up for her classes. From an absolute beginner who didn’t know one end of a paintbrush from another, I have since January learned a variety of techniques and produced paintings of which I’m proud. My sister even has one on her wall.
While I know I’ll never be a great artist, Liz’s teaching skills and patience have given me the confidence to keep going and improve.
I love the classes and enjoy practising at home – it’s a wonderfully engrossing hobby. I’m so glad I signed up.
Liz Dulley –
Thank you Karen I’m pleased you brought your creativity to class. I admire your perseverance and willingness to try new techniques, you’re learning fast. I’m pleased you are proud of your achievements and I totally understand that watercolour is a wonderfully engrossing hobby. Keep it up.

I had never painted before I joined Liz’s class, but her classes have a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere, allowing all attendees to develop their skill and style at their own pace with her guidance. Through the classes I have learnt many aspects of watercolour painting, including tone, colour, and shading, together with various techniques. Liz’s knowledge, support, patience, and encouragement have allowed me to learn and develop my skills. My favourite subject is wildlife and animals and with Liz’s help I have been able to produce a number of paintings that I am very proud of.
Liz Dulley –

June –
I have had the good fortune to attend Liz Dulley’s watercolour painting classes for several years. She is an enthusiastic and sympathetic teacher, who maintains very high standards. There is always excellent instruction, and varied subject matter. All aspects of working with watercolour are covered, and revisited when appropriate. Liz’s methods encourage personal development and creativity, and help clients to maintain an avid interest in the medium.
Liz Dulley –
Thank you June! It’s great having your cheerful self in class and I feel very lucky to be part of your creative journey. I admire your patience and enjoy watching your skill with watercolour develop.
Bernadette –
Liz Dulley’s ‘Watercolour All Ways’ classes are instructive, practical and fun where students
learn a broad spectrum of watercolour painting techniques.
Each block of classes focuses on a specific topic such as tones and perspective. Liz combines
teaching new techniques with a tailored approach relevant to the experience and particular
interest of individual students.
She creates a welcoming and supportive atmosphere, facilitates shared learning amongst
her students, and is brilliant at nurturing individual creativity. Liz’s positive attitude builds
confidence and she encourages students to be ambitious and creative in our use of mediums
and materials.
Optimising the use of painting materials to minimise waste and the creative re-use of
everyday objects to enhance visual presentation has been a strong feature of our classes.
Liz is an accomplished artist and an excellent tutor who is very generous with her time and
also in sharing her skills. My experience of being one of Liz’s students for eighteen months
has been one of discovery in terms of learning about watercolour materials and techniques
and the practical application of these, culminating in an exhibited painting which would not
have been possible without her inspiration, guidance and support.
Liz Dulley –
Thank you Bernadette! You are a pleasure to have in class, a careful and conscientious painter with a skill to adapt to any subject. Good to hear you are happy with your progress. It was fabulous to see your painting hanging in the exhibition. Well done!
Helen –
I have been a member of Liz Dulley’s Watercolour all Ways class for 18 months. I have found Liz to be an extremely enthusiastic and encouraging teacher.
Liz’s demonstrations are always inspiring, full of tips and techniques and sometimes surprising as Liz encourages us to think outside the box and use objects such as waste cardboard, packaging, leaves and even sticks to paint with!
There are various levels of abilities in the class but all are made to feel equally good and Liz encourages everyone to fulfil their own potential.
I have also joined the Watercolour all Ways group and for an annual subscription I receive a discount on class fees, priority booking and informative updates which is definitely good value for money.
I look forward very much to my time in class (indoors and outdoors) and would encourage anyone thinking about taking up watercolour as a hobby to join Liz’s class – I am so happy with my progress and that’s all thanks to Liz’s patience and encouragement.
Liz Dulley –
Thank you Helen, It’s a pleasure to have you in class, always keen to experiment and try something new. I’m pleased you are happy with your progress. I enjoy watching your paintings develop and look forward to seeing more. . .
Shirley –
We thoroughly enjoyed our morning class with you and it has inspired us to go out into the garden and paint! A wonderful class with a wonderful tutor, thank you!
Liz Dulley –
Thank you Shirley. It was lovely having you both in the class!
Mary –
I first attended an outdoor art class organised by Liz in June 2022. Since then, I
have become a regular and enthusiastic member of her Friday afternoon class.
As a 60+ year old woman with absolutely no experience in painting, Liz’s class
has provided me with an opportunity to develop creatively in ways I never
imagined possible.
The quality of the service she provides is of the highest standard. She always
makes me feel like I am receiving 1-1 tuition rather than being just another
pupil in the class. Every week we are taught new techniques and encouraged
to be bold and innovative in our approaches to painting. We explore various
methods of applying paint and we are as happy using a stick or a piece of
cardboard as we are when using a brush. We are often shown how to use
recycled or repurposed material to create our pieces. She encourages us to
study other artists and to visit exhibitions. She also encourages us to exhibit
our own artwork.
Liz goes above and beyond when assisting class members. She is patient and
takes time to clarify approaches and instructions. She is person centred and
tailors her approach to each individual. Her energy and commitment are
infectious.
I feel so privileged to be taught by such a talented and renowned artist who
gives so generously of her skills and experience. I can’t believe how much I
have improved from someone who would never allow anyone to see my
attempts at painting, to someone who is framing and hanging my pictures
around my home and even considering letting the rest of the world see them.
Liz’s classes are two hours of bliss in a busy week. My mental health has
improved considerably and that is in no small way due to the environment and
the camaraderie she creates within her class.
Liz’s classes are accessible, affordable and fun. What’s not to love?
Liz Dulley –
Thank you Mary! It’s a delight to have your enthusiasm and watch you progress in class. I’m so pleased you are starting to see the fruits of your labour. You’ve just taken creativity and your tricky project to the next level. Carry on!
Catriona –
I have been attending Liz Dulley’s art classes for a few years now, including during lockdown when she ran zoom classes for us every week to keep us painting!
I am always learning new things – new techniques, new ways of seeing things, new understanding of what works and what doesn’t – and Liz is the most patient and encouraging of teachers. She gives me the confidence to keep trying and experimenting and her class is truly my happy place.
Thank you Liz.
Liz Dulley –
Thank you Catriona! I love your ability to think out of the box and willingness to try something new. Great to hear class is your truly happy place. Mine too!

Liz Dulley –
Thanks Sheryn! Great to hear your enthusiasm for watercolour continues Sheryn! It would be lovely to see yourself and Sheila back in class, anytime you can manage. In the meantime, Happy painting!
Mary –
Liz’ online classes have been a godsend during lockdown. Looking forward to getting back to face to face classes. Liz has a great way of guiding rather than direct teaching allowing individuals to explore their own style through providing encouragement and positive feedback. Liz also gives inspiring demonstration of different techniques and gives space for class members to try out in their own way. Liz’ own paintings are outstanding.
Liz Dulley –
Thanks Mary! Pleased you found online class useful and enjoyed my approach. I look forward to getting back to the classroom too, hopefully soon! Thank you and happy painting!
Janice –
“Watercolour all Ways” is well-named. Alongside demonstrating the possibilities of colour and brush application, Liz offers a vast variety of interesting and innovative ways to apply paint and achieve texture beyond brushstrokes. Liz encourages all class members to explore the different techniques which will allow them to express their own style and enjoy the versatility of watercolours.
Liz Dulley –
Thank you! Happy Painting! Continue to enjoy exploring watercolour all ways Janice!
June –
Liz gave us excellent advice and encouragement, and provided us with varied projects to keep us progressing. The online format worked really well, with Liz on hand for questions throughout class time.
Liz Dulley –

Catriona –
I love Liz’s classes. We are taught and encouraged to experiment with different techniques, materials and tools. Liz is always on hand to offer suggestions or a new perspective when needed and her obvious delight in her students’ work inspires confidence.
